1989 Buick Lucerne (top) and Park Avenue Essence concepts
Today, I’ve been inspired by the designs of the Buick large car concepts of the late ‘80s.
Lovely.

Minimum hood height requirements for pedestrian safety can possibly GTFAC. That four-seater in sky blue is not getting made with them in place, no way, no how.

Were they in place in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s?

I think there are some things in place for hood height other than the distance-off-engine, but that’s the only one I found. On the other hand, bumper regs of ‘82 said it had to have a designated bumper area from 16" to 20" off the ground, which these definitely flunk.

...Of the ‘90s. These were ‘80s Buick designs. Lincoln definitely appropriated them. But I don’t see much Cadillac in them.

The white one is delightful.

Agreed. I like the taillight treatment especially. But I like the blue-green car’s side trim better.
